1. Who should I be talking to?
FMRI has a Leadership Team who share responsibility for stakeholder engagement.
- The Senior Responsible Owner is accountable for working with the NERC Strategic Partnerships directorate to establish strategic relationships and sponsorship for the programme. Example: Centre Directors, Cross-Government Relationships
- The Programme Director is responsible for working with delivery partners to execute the programme. This includes identifying the work that needs to be undertaken, contracting activity and monitoring delivery. Example remit: Centre Associate Directors, Project Leads
- The Lead Scientist is responsible for working with all members of the science community to shape the future capability so that it delivers the science we need and enables the UK to remain a partner of choice for international scientific endeavour.
- The Technical Lead is responsible for working with technical experts and suppliers to understand how technology can enable the future capability.
You should approach FMRI via your contacts in the Leadership Team or by contacting the Programme Office: info@fmri.ac.uk
2. How are working groups selected?
To deliver the FMRI programme there is a need to bring together expert task-and-finish groups that can provide the programme team with specialist insight. When the need for a working group is identified, the Programme Director engages with key stakeholders to identify an appropriate Chair and the key stakeholder groups/interests that need to be included to achieve the specific objectives. The Programme Director works with the Chair to develop a Terms of Reference and agree the membership. If the working group directly contributes to major decisions, for example: mandatory business case workshops, the proposed membership will be submitted to the FMRI Board for review.
